Adult Aquatics

Use the resistance of the water to strengthen and tone your muscles without impact. It is another great way to cross train, keeping your workouts exciting!  Please note the Adult Water Workout is now part of the Water Exercise Schedule but does required Preregistration.

Class Descriptions

Aqua Power – This is a high intensity workout that concentrates on cardiovascular conditioning and strengthening, both lower and upper body. Class uses various pool equipment and water gloves can be used.

Aqua Fit – This is a high energy workout that combines cardio intervals, core strengthening, and balance and flexibility for a full body workout.

Aqua Intervals – This is a high intensity all over workout designed to burn calories combining cardio and strength training with an emphasis on body mechanics and body awareness.

Aqua Fusion – This is a dynamic workout that concentrates on cardiovascular conditioning, core strengthening, body positioning, and easy to follow choreography.

Joint Venture – This is a low intensity workout done in warm water. Designed to ease sore joints, strengthen muscles, increase balance and flexibility, and improve functional fitness by working through a series of gentle, fluid movements.

Water Walking – This is a low intensity workout done in warm water. It utilizes the natural resistance and buoyancy of the water by traveling forward, backward, and laterally, in order to increase functional fitness and body awareness.

Swim Workout - This is a challenging class that aims to build endurance and improve stroke technique.  A different workout will be created for each day.  Must be able to swim 100 yards freestyle.  Pre-registration is required.  This class will start up again in October and be held at the Cedarland Aquatic Center.

Aqua Yoga – This class takes your traditional yoga class and moves it into the pool. It is a perfect way to relax and experience optimal stretch.

Aqua Pilates – The perfect low intensity water workout designed to transform the mind and body through the use of warm water and pool resistance.

Arthritis Class – Endorsed by the Arthritis Foundation, this class utilizes the benefits of warm water and buoyancy to work through a gentle, fluid range of motion movements. It is designed to reduce body fatigue, pain, and joint stiffness, while improving mobility, muscle strength, and balance. Swimming ability is not required.  The class runs in 6-week sessions with a fee of $180.  This program is open to non-members. Space is limited so be sure to register early. Aquatic Personal Training

Aquatic Personal Training is a perfect workout for those seeking customized workouts tailored to your needs and fitness goals. It is a great alternative to other traditional training programs and provides the same fitness benefits, except you work out in a pool. A personal aquatics professional will assess your goals and needs, as well as address any medical issues you may have.

 

Aquatic Therapy Training

This is a perfect workout alternative if you are rehabilitating from illness or injury while offering the benefits of a tailored program in a warm and soothing water-based environment.

Both Aquatic Fitness Training and Aquatic Therapy Training are offered in Individual training packages, Semi-training packages (2 people) and Group training packages (4– 6 people). Swimming ability is not a requirement. Water shoes are recommended.
