Junior Tennis Lessons

PHENOMENAL! THAT IS THE ONLY WORD TO DESCRIBE OUR JUNIORS' PROGRAM.

The Cedardale Tennis Program for Juniors is a progressive developmental program that incorporates the following in each lesson:

Warm up
Character Development
Athletic Skills
Tennis Skills

Juniors will be grouped by age and ability levels to promote skill and character development following the USTA ROGY (Red, Orange, Green, & Yellow Ball) curriculum.

INDOOR 2023 - 2024 TINY TOTS

AGE 3 - 4
This class is designed to introduce your junior to tennis and sports in general. Juniors will work on basic athletic skills including hand eye coordination and balance through fun games and activities.

Saturdays	12:30 - 1:00 pm
Sundays	12:30 - 1:00 pm

RED BALL

AGE 4 - 7
Use red felt ball / 36' court / recommended racquet size - 17 - 23 inches
This class introduces the foundational skills of tennis with oversized low compression balls on smaller kid friendly courts. Players will learn the basics of tennis including being able to serve, rally, and score. These skills will be introduced through fun activities and games while also working on their basic athletic skills. The name of the game in this class is FUN!

Monday - Thursday	4:00 - 5:00 pm
Saturday	1:00 - 2:00 pm
Sunday	9:00 - 10:00 am

FUN FRIDAYS
Fridays | 3:30 - 4:30 pm
All Tiny Tot, Red and Orange Ball lesson participants are welcome to join us on Friday afternoons from 3:30 - 4:30 pm for some fun games and activities. Fun Fridays is included in your lesson package. Please be sure to sign up weekly for this event.

ORANGE BALL

AGES 8 - 10
Use orange felt ball / 60' court / recommended racquet size - 23 - 25 inches
This is a 1-hour a week class that will start to teach our players the following:

basic stroke instruction
serving
scoring and rules/regulations
point construction
match play

We will use different progressions to help our players start to play different drills and games.

Offered:

Monday - Thursday	4:00 - 5:00 pm
Saturday	2:00 - 3:00 pm
Sunday	10:00 - 11:00 am

GREEN BALL

AGES 10 - 12 yrs
Use Green felt ball / 78' court /recommended racquet size - 26 - 27 inches

This is an 1 1/2 hour class that focuses on mastering the basic strokes while adding more skills to our players game. We will focus more on the following:

Stroke mastering
Constructing points with patterns and identification tactics
Basic strategy - offense and defense
Learning to compete
Match play

Offered:

Monday - Thursday	5:00 - 6:30 pm
Saturday	3:00 - 4:30 pm
Sunday	11:00 am - 12:30 pm

Match Play - held weekly and included in your lesson package. Great way to practice the skills you learn in your lesson. Sign up weekly.

YELLOW BALL

AGES 13 yrs +
Use Standard Yellow Ball / 78' court (regulation size) / recommended racquet size - 27 inches
This 1 1/2 hour class for beginner tennis players between the ages of 13 - 18 will focus on all the basics to get our player playing the great game of tennis. This class will consist of the following:

Basic stroke development
Basic strategy
Introduction to match play
Understanding the game
Rules and regulations

Match Play - held weekly and included in your lesson package. Great way to practice the skills you learn in your lesson. Sign up weekly.

HIGH SCHOOL PREP

Looking to play high school tennis this year or in the future? This class was designed with the high school athlete in mind. In this class we will go in depth into stroke production and strategic play and patterns to help get you ready for the upcoming season. MATCH PLAY

Fridays | 3:30 - 5:00 pm

Open to all Green, Yellow and High School Prep lesson participants, this is a great way to practice the tennis skills you are learning in a fun match play environment. Match Play is included in your lesson package. Please be sure to register weekly for the event.

Indoor Session Dates 2023 - 2024:

Session 1	Sept 5th - Oct 29th*
Session 2	Oct 30th - Dec 22nd*
Session 3	Jan 2nd - Mar 3rd*
Session 4	Mar 4th - Apr 28th
Session 5	Apr 29th - Jun 16th (note: 7 week session - will be prorated)

Classes meet 1 time per week for designated session time period as noted above. Juniors are welcome and encouraged to register for more than 1 day per week.

Fees:

TINY TOTS	8 week session	$120.00 per session
RED BALL	8 week session	$240.00 per session
ORANGE BALL	8 week session	$240.00 per session
GREEN/YELLOW BALL	8 week session	$360.00 per session
HIGH SCHOOL PREP	8 week session	$360.00 per session

NOTES:

*No classes are held Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve Day, Christmas Day, February School Vacation week, Easter Sunday or Memorial Day. There also be no classes on Saturday, November 18th due to a charity tournament
Sessions with Holidays/not held will be prorated including Session 1 Mondays due to Labor Day.
Classes may be added/removed based on enrollment numbers.
There are no makeups unless Cedardale cancels a class due to inclement weather.
If there is inclement weather all junior classes will be notified by 1 pm on weekdays.

Registration:

Full payment is required at time of registration.
If you wish to register for more than 1 day per week or a different day in a different session please submit separate registration forms.
If you have an account with Cedardale you may register for any of the above programs through the Online Member Portal or through the Mobile App.
If you do not have an account with Cedardale please complete and submit the Registration Form below. We will contact you by phone to establish an account and complete the registration.
