Football Game Day Workout


I don’t know about you, but I am so excited that football starts this week! Nothing makes me happier than spending all day Sunday on the couch watching all of the games. However, it isn’t the healthiest activity in the world. So here’s a football themed workout you can do at home while enjoying all of the game day action!


Pregame Show - Cardio

If you’re like me, you watch all the fantasy football shows before the games start. So instead of just sitting watching, get moving! If you are lucky enough to have an elliptical or treadmill at home, put that thing to use during the pregame shows. Go for at least 30 mins using intervals to make you really sweat! If you don’t have one, try this no equipment cardio workout.

20 PiYo Squat Jumps
20 Mountain Climbers
20 High Knees

1 minute rest & repeat for 20-30 minutes


Game Time Workout

It’s game time! Every time one of these things happen, do the exercise! A game can last up to 3 hours, so just do this for the 1st quarter or 30 minutes. Then you can really sit and enjoy the day knowing you fit in your workout!


Kick off - jumping jacks for 1 min   

1st downs - 12-15 pushups

Time Outs - Hold a plank for the entire time out

Interception - 12-15 squats

Fumble - 12-15 lunges each side

Field Goal - 12-15 inch worms

Touchdown - 12-15 burpees
