Lifeguard Training and Recertification Courses

Lifeguard Training Course
Dec 27 - 30  | 9:00 am - 1:00 pm
Fee:  $400

Participants must attend all sessions listed above to complete training. With completion of the course and with a passing grade on the exam, participants will receive Red Cross certifications in Lifeguarding and Water Safety, First Aid, AED, and CPR for the Professional Rescuer.  This course is open to both members and non-members of Cedardale.

Prerequisites for participants:
• Must be at least 15 years old
• Must be able to swim 300 yards continuously using the following strokes in order:
o 200 yards of crawl stroke with rhythmic breathing and a propellant kick (breathing can be to the side or the front)
o 100 yards of breaststroke
• Must be able to swim 20 yards using front crawl or breaststroke, surface dive a depth of 7-10 feet, retrieve a 10 pound object, return to the surface, and swim 20 yards back to the starting point with the object. You must carry the object in both hands and keep your face above water when returning (timed-1:40.00). 

All classes held at the Cedarland Aquatic Center at 888 Boston Road, Haverhill, MA.

Lifeguard Training Recertification Course
Dec 19th - 20th  | 4:00-7:00pm
Fee:  $200


Participants must attend all sessions listed above to complete training. The purpose of this course is to provide participants with the opportunity to demonstrate their skill and knowledge competency.  All class participants should arrive for class prepared to take both written and in-water tests in order to renew their lifeguarding/ First Aid/ CPR certifications. All class participants should have current certifications or certifications that have recently expired.  With completion of the course and with a passing grade on the exam, participants will receive updated certifications in Lifeguarding and Water Safety, First Aid, AED, and CPR.  

Class will be held at the Cedarland Aquatic Center, 888 Boston Road, Haverhill, MA.
