HealthyLIVING Frequently Asked Questions

Is HealthyLIVING 90 Day Wellness Program a diet?

No, the HealthyLIVING program is not a fad, crash, or temporary diet. It is a comprehensive wellness program designed to help you manage your weight and chronic disease through nutrition, exercise, stress management, and behavior change.

Is it a support group?

While you will have the support of others in your group session, the program does not follow a support group style. The first few minutes of class are dedicated to discussion amongst the group to share our experiences, but the majority of class is educational.

How is it different from other weight loss programs and popular diets?

HealthyLIVING is unique because unlike other programs, it incorporates more than just diet. It includes exercise and extensive education along with nutrition guidance. The sessions are led by a licensed registered dietitian with extensive background in medical nutrition therapy so they can provide you with accurate information that will help you manage your weight, diabetes, cholesterol, etc. The exercise portion is led by a certified fitness professional to ensure safe and effective workouts for all levels.

What is the time commitment?

The time commitment is 2 hours per week of group class for 12 weeks (always held on the same day of the week). There are also 3 hours of private sessions included, 2 hours at the beginning, 1 hour at the end. You will be expected to exercise and dedicate time to healthy eating outside of class each week if you want to see results!

What if I have to miss a couple weeks?

We understand that you have other commitments in your life but kindly ask that you do not miss more than 2 classes. If you know you will be traveling, on vacation, or away for more than 2 sessions, you may want to wait until the next session. Missed classes can be made up by scheduling a private session with your coach.

Can I do the nutrition portion only?

Yes, this could be an option under certain circumstances. Please contact the nutrition department to discuss this further.

Who is the ideal participant?

The program is geared towards adults. Many of the previous participants come from a “yo-yo” diet background and have struggled with their weight for many years. In addition, often participants will have several risk factors for heart disease and other chronic diseases including high blood pressure, high cholesterol, high glucose/sugar, pre-diabetic or diabetic.

All adults are welcome to join the program, regardless of need to lose a significant amount of weight or manage disease. The program will benefit anyone who is looking to improve their health.

We will then go into our material for the week which takes about 60 minutes. Your coach will present the material in a fun, engaging way. The final 60 minutes of class is when we workout together. The workouts are different every week and are meant to be educational and challenging. Expect to sweat.

What if I have physical limitations (bad knee, shoulder, hip, etc.)?

Modifications will always be provided for exercises when necessary. Contact the nutrition department to discuss your physical limitation further and decide if the program is the right fit.

What if I have special dietary needs?
