I grew up in the ballet world from the age of 2, spending 4 years at a Boston Ballet feeder school, and dancing all the way through college. In my early 20s, I received a chronic illness diagnosis, and the pain and fatigue meant that some days it was difficult to move my body in the ways dancing demanded. This was the start of my yoga journey. Learning new ways to move, to stretch, to strengthen that could be modified to my daily health needs was a incredible blessing, and truly allowed me to find a path to living not as a sick person, but as a healthy person living with an illness. I was certified in YogaFit instruction in 2006, then received my classical Yoga 200 hr training in 2020. I have since received an additional certification in trauma-informed yoga, and I am working with Yoga in Action to bring yoga classes to under-served populations such as individuals living in shelters, our senior community, and those living with health conditions who may be home-bound or require additional aid/modification. I believe that yoga is for everybody and EVERY BODY. I believe that yoga brings us a deeper understanding of the skin we are in, a broader connection to our bodies’ natural movements, and a stronger sense of self across the elements of mind, body, and soul/breath. My classes are open to all levels, and modifications will be provided to ensure you get the practice your body needs on any given day. I look forward to bringing fun, challenging, and heart-opening classes to the Cedardale community. Namaste
